Hotel Colbert refurbishment, Saint-Jean-de-Luz

Initial condition

Located opposite the train station in Saint-Jean-de-Luz, the building showed major deterioration, especially on the west façade (rear). Its condition was very poor, with rotten shutters, deteriorated railings and damaged eaves.

  • Chiselling and re-rendering with waterproof mortar and mesh.
  • Application of fixative and three coats of paint.
  • Transport of shutters to the workshop; replacement of rotten ones and restoration of the others.
  • Repair and protection of wooden railings (over 50 years old).
  • Localised repair of eaves and gutter cleaning.
  • Different finishes: smooth at the rear and preservation of the original pattern at the front.
  • Work carried out in a short time to minimise disturbance to guests.

The hotel was fully protected against moisture and weathering, with a renewed appearance respectful of its original character. The result was very satisfactory for both the owners and the guests.

Guarantee

The façade was fully protected and renovated, maintaining the original appearance of the building and ensuring durability. A precise intervention that restored solidity and aesthetics to the historic property.
